NTV7-A channel for all =)

During the past long holidays , besides reading , strolling , joining activities, idlingat home and giving tuiton, i couldn't resist the temptation of watching my favourite show. LOL

usually i will spead my time by watching my favourite movie shows..Ohm if you ask me which channel that receive the hottest view, i would say NTV7, just because there are so many interesting, chilling, humerous, exciting, educational, informative movies that had been broadcasted.

WOW, that is really amazing, of all the movies, i prefer to watch projects laugh, Mr siao mandarin class , breakfast show, bionic woman.etc..
I love the show 'project laugh'..it makes me burst into laughter...HAHAHAHA...
Truly a fantastic malaysia show, well done the producers!=)
i alwasy like to catch up movies, every week days , 8:30pm ...There are always nice movies going on..haha.=)

Nostalgic memory..UPSR Pride!

I always went to library to read read and read..haha..a bookworm?! Not Really la.

The victory of scoring 7As in UPSR!

This kind lady is my teacher. Mdm Tan, if not mistaken she taught me quit a number of subjects like music, Kajian tempatan and mandarin.

If you happen to read an obstrusive news at the Guang Hwa newspaper long time ago-2003.you would see me being 'advertised' on the newspaper.LOL .

That was the time of pride..Scoring 7As in UPSR was once my proudest moment but now, it seem like it wasn't a big deal.
i was once from SJK(C) Pai Chai, Batu Ferringhi.it was a small-sized school where every standards have only one class.about 120 students in total during my time.
I was the only boy out of 22 students in my class that manage to score straight As.The other was a girl, studying at PCGHS..but now, we have lost contacts, sigh!
this bring back the memorable times when i was a primary school student then,we have lots of fun, mingling with each other regardless of race(there is 2 malays and 1 indian at my class, all of them can speak a fluent mandarin, but now we lost contact ! SIGH again! )Perhaps there might be chance or fate for us to meet again in future.=)
By the way,My picture was really blur, snaped it by my Handphone. the quality wasn't good enough..
Anyway, if there is a chance for me to go back to the past, i will say a big YES!!
It was so fun of thinking back the time when you are stress- free and happy-go-lucky.LOL.=)
Note:this news had been published 6 years ago(2003), which is the time during my first form in Chung Ling High School.Time flies, and now i keep this as a very nostalgic and memorable pieces of news, and i hope all of my primary school friends can do well in their lives.=)
Cheers!!

Science graduates-what prospects?

Employers love scientists! Your curious, investigative minds are useful to all sorts of employment areas, not just in the science sector. In 2008, six months after graduation, almost two thirds (59%) of biology graduates had entered full- or part-time employment and nearly a third (30%) went on to do full- or part-time further study.
Of those who entered work, just under 1 in 6 (14%) went into professional and technical jobs, such as research assistant or lab technician, and just under 13% went into scientific jobs. Almost 1 in 10 (8%) went into management jobs. The rest of the graduates who were asked in 2008 were working in a wide range of sectors including education (5%), sales and marketing (4%) and health (3%). Just under one third (28%) were working in administration, retail or catering, perhaps to build up work experience or take some time out.

i come across this fact while online, this is definetely a guide to all of us..especially the one that is going to think over the courses which he or she is stuck with and in a dilemma of opting whichever one.

hey, RELAX...
Those who gonna want to excel , don't just look based on what degree you are graduate from..it is all about your interpersonal skills , your will to succeed in life, how successful you are in oder to survive in this world..

by the way, i love science...more than anything else..besides that, i do love arts(not the artsy design stuff ) i love the classical asian study, literature(particulary the pieces by motivational experts), i love geography, history too...HAHA..

Thus i do really hope that, besides sciences, (Those are expert in science, don't ever look down on the importance of arts, because without it, means there is no more Humanitarian values,Self conscious..etc..

ARTS Versus Sciences

A science teacher supplies material and asks students to
discover its significance. An art teacher supplies material and asks students to
give it significance.” That’s not to suggest one is better than the other. But
it does hint at the nature of hostility between the two points of view. The
essence of artistic activity is supposed to involve pure creativity and freedom;
whereas, scientific activity is supposed to involve mechanism and strict
adherence to laws. The conclusion being that science is not conducive to
artistic work. '

I am always a science student, but never neglect art as well...

because..a well rounder are = Science expert + art activist

USM-Out of my reach!

The result of admission into USM had been known since yesterday..i wasn't selected as one of the lucky 3000 undergraduates students to study at USM..sigh!

This bad news had been revealed to me of how hard to go into USM..just because they have Munsyi Test, interview(for certain courses),and your result and Koku marks do count into one of the criteria.

The worst fear is the Munsyi test, if you happen to FAIL it....

FAIL!!!!!

do u know how you fail it??

RElax>>>>>it wasn't any big deal of failing it. What i mean is that the FAIL here implying you are not able to match your personality, your interest into the already fixed answers..

there is no real answers to the questions being asked at the test.it is just a matter of 'ARE YOU SuIT TO Be DOCTOR?' that determine your result..either LULUS or GAGAL....again i should'nt use the word GAGAL to fear you guys...that is all about YOU ARE NOT SuITABLE TO BE A DOCTOR!! just and examples of it.

THAt is what apply to me...

but i believe the Munsyi test wasn't 100% accurate, i am not trying to console myself...but it is real..HAHA..

That is just the psychological test that may further drill into your personality , get to reveal lots of things about yourself, but eventually, that is not going to be 100% yourself.

Thus, the only thing that i can do is to pray hard so that i can have the chance in other IPTA-UM or UKM...LOL(hope that you won't disappointed me anymore..)

Speaking of my friends. most of them do get what they want, aiming for USM.
I hereby wish you guys all the best, and more importantly, don't regret and be the master of whatever you study..

Goggle translator-a wise tool for all!

Today, i am trying to goggle for translator ...

previously i am going to buy the software to install...but then i feel like why not i just directly download it from internet since the most powerful tool in the world is INTERNET!!!

Does it consider as an illegal downloading? or no..it is not ..because i have just browse through the net and search for it...

it is FOUND!!

And then i just put it on my favourite link lists..

okay..and now i am trying to translate a paragraph:

I was one of the participants in Earth Hour last year. Our whole college shut the lights for the hour to encourage energy saving. It's a good move that really showed the impact of small electrical savings we can make just by being aware of our consumption. Overrall the reception last year was really good. However, in the long term, i see people still turning on their lights when they are not using them, etc. Awareness is still lacking and needs to be improved.
The chinese translation goes this way:
我是其中一名参与者为地球小时去年。我们整个学院的灯关闭的时间,以鼓励节约能源。这是一个很好的举措,真正显示了影响小电器节省我们可以只知道我们的消费。
Overall去年接待非常好。 然而,从长远来看,我看到人们仍然把他们的灯光时,他们使用的不是他们,等意识仍然缺乏和需要加以改进。

Do you see any differences between the two? do the translator has flaw?

The red sentences imply there is indeed big mistakes..for the whole sentence..it does'nt soound right in mandarin right?LOL.

BUT.....

overally, it is still GOOD! The efficiency is amazing, within a second , that is it: the translated passages!

Conclusion: Computer may not be a good reader like human beings.!

They can't read certain things well due to the absence of complex mind..LOL

BBC-Resourceful site to improve english

heck, i find myself not really fluent in english, my english is not really good.but for casual or communicating purposes I guess people can still understand me. still, I wish I can do better in writting and listening. Last time i hit a mere BAnd 4 for MUET. Band 4 is not a bad band after all, as i am really satisfied with my result.

communication is the best tool to improve one's language proficiency. In local, we are lacking of english speaking environment in our daily social life, thus we do not utilise the powerful tool of communication to brush up our proficiency. For those abroad, studying environment is a perfect place for them to interact with others, hence they are able to improve their speaking skill in English more efficiently as compared to us in local.

would say that one should start from the grammar and sentence pattern parts. I believe that the primary reason why a lot of people couldn't really speak English is due to the fact that they are afraid of making mistakes, and thus 'lose face'. It is pointless to watch TV shows why you have little to no understanding of how sentences are correctly structured. It is only meaningful to watch when you can understand them. Of course, everything has a beginning, but you can start from understanding the sentence pattern first because those Americans like to play around with their grammar.

The priority should be: First, understand most of the sentence patterns and have at least 95% of confidence on your grammar. Second, bring in the vocabularies. Third, start the speaking and listening. Of course you can do these all at once, but do make clear of your division of efforts. For instance, as a beginner, you won't want to listen to a lot of news and TV shows but do very little practice on your grammar.

It is important to note that if you speak broken English, you are not speaking English. It may be Manglish, Singlish, or whatever you call it. It just isn't English.

i found BBC website to be great learning platform for all to improve their English.
The listening audio files and perhaps the pieces of writings may help learners to step by step to enhance their English proficiency.
I always download the audio files into my MP3.with the Flash Get software aiding, i can easily download it and put into use.

Changes in my MSN email ....

Today, i have changed my MSN email address to another new one: ray_lowhp@live.co.uk.

It is UK one. HAHA....i wonder why there is no more hotmail.com available, if not i will choose the previously back then.

The reason?
It is merely just to refresh and get rid of my long unread email messages previously. LOL. my email ,70% are from frenster, saying that: your friends have just update their profile , your friends want to share application with you, etc...the long junk messages quite irritated me. HAIZ.
Thus i have freed myself from all these junky emails then, it reaches nearly 1000 for just a year ..Wow, amazing ,man.

Anyone who are still unknown or unfamiliar with me,and yet wish to know more about me , you are the most welcomed to add me on : ray_lowhp@live.co.uk. (my newly created email account ) hehe..

Cheers!

About the SMS language-the fantastic abbrevations , sometimes people type in short form because they just want to save the space, as some features limit the number of letters.SMS short form. Admit it, we all use it but for most of us it's for practical reasons. Most of the time English short-forms are still legible, it's the Malay ones that never fail to make my forehead crinkle as I try to decipher the message.LOL

I'd answer "no" to every request written in "leetspeak" simply because it's faster to type "no". As some are so lazy to spend another two seconds writing their words in full, I would also be lazy to spend an extra second to type out that extra one letter.

I won't fault you if you use short-hand or "leetspeak" in making notes for yourselves. As long as you can understand what is written, that's fine. But if you were to give me your short-hand notes and expect me to understand them, you'd better just make an audio recording of what you've written and give that to me instead. Initially i would be like that, but i understand that with the trends of so many people being like that---using short forms in SMSing would becomes a trend rather than a fault,so i will just tolerate it. HAHA..i am going to learn the above lists of SMS Jargons so that i won't be lagging behind and be a geek of SMS languages than you guys.

Vision 2020..

while i have quite plenty of time to delve deep into this Big Ambition of MAlaysians-Vision 2020.

We were hoping for those people who studied overseas to come back to Malaysia to improve the conditions we have over here. We want the overseas grad to show our locals the best things from overseas.

To achieve 2020 is very difficult indeed based on the current situation where many young capable Malaysians (all races) are not keen of returning home due to ridiculous restrictions and the third world mentality shown by our people. Yes, we made progress in the nineties but that was merely Infrastrcutural progress but our education and social culture eroded badly. The policy makers of then are guilty of creating the current situation now where our people cant think critically and keep blaming someone else for every problem they faced.

All said and done, there is still hope but do not trust in a hope. May God bless us all.

First: Establishing a united Malaysian nation made up of one Bangsa Malaysia

Second :Creating a psychologically liberated, secure and developed Malaysian society

Third: Fostering and developing a mature democratic society

Forth: Establishing a fully moral and ethical society

Fifth: Establishing a matured liberal and tolerant society

Sixth: Establishing a scientific and progressive society

Seventh: Establishing a fully caring society

Eighth: Ensuring an economically just society, in which there is a fair and equitable distribution of the wealth of the nation

Ninth: Establishing a prosperous society with an economy that is fully competitive, dynamic, robust and resilient

Cheers! MAy God Bless Malaysia to reach her only dream-Vision 2020!

Kris Allen emerge as American Idol 2009!

Finally, his efforts paid off. His strong voacal, pleasant personality , charismatic characters, etc have won him for the millions votes of Americans!

at first i did not like chris - very ordinary, but i guess i was wrong! i stand corrected. at the end, i like him better than adam. although adam, no doubt is very talented - he needs to be in the broadway shows. awesome season for american idol, by far! contestants were really great, tough to make a decision every week!

Though his apearance may not be as glamorous as Adam Lambert, for at least he has the right pleasant personality and more importantly his fabulous skill in touching people heart through his song.

Kris Allen is WAYYY better then Taylor Hicks. No offense.
he definetely deserved to be crowned as the 8th American Idol.
The moment he sang 'Apologise' during the finale 3 , i was deeply touched by his vocal, his ability to entertain the crowds of audiences..fantastic as it may seem!

Gosh, i make things worst!

Today, i was planning to change my blog layout, but it makes matter worst as i -the novice in blogging knowledge make the whole blog's gadgets lost. This includes my Chatbox, blog list, link list and many other gadgets that i have download previously. Luckily , i told myself that i didn't lost the whole series of my blog.HA!If not, i am going to extremely mad.

I try my best sitting whole day long to recover everthing in my blog. that is the problem striking a nerd of PC stuff. Thus, i have make it an obligation for me to LEARN! To master the skills corcerning PC stuffs such as software , webpage developments, adobe photoshop, microsoft power point( it had been a while since i learn how to make use of Microsoft Power Point , but now it is so rusty )..so I have to learn? but how? LOL....i am considering reading a book and perhaps sufing the net to get some useful guidance and tips.I will be heading to Uni soon and it is a must for me to know everything regarding laptop management as my new laptop which is currently at melaka is waiting me for picking it up. LOL.

Anyway, the idiotic connection of Internet at my house infuriated me..MSN as most people had complaint about, give us a lot trouble, yet the problems still remain.
every time i sign in , be it my Window live messenger or Window live hotmail, the whole webpage appears offline.
I come to know that not only me who face this kind of problem but most people, i happen to come across through recom, where a thread is created by recomer.

Maybe we should call on the web experts or the concerned authorities to further investigate the problems or else everyone would getting really fed up.

Ragards,

My life thus far!

It is another day filled of dilemma..i have worked hard so far and strike to get a better result but then i feel that my efforts are going to waste if i wasn't grant the course that i want and perhaps get a scholarships or so.
i am dam worried about the application process to IPTA and have consulted no seniors on that matter so far, the best that i can do is to go back to my former school- CLHS to get some guidance from fellow seniors which there is a talk that is going to held around June, just according to my friends.

Anyway, i have a good and my first and the only one trip for meeting up with a friend that i know her through a forum. And we meet up each other just yesterday. And you should guess what is my feeling thus far? Oh well, initially, what pop up from my mind is that it will be very awkward since we do purposely plan up this meeting.but it ends up quite OK , so far this is what i think: The real person is so so different from the one wearing a mask , virtually appear on the net chatting with you. If we happen to meet up the real person, face to face confrontation will reveal both personality and characters. This is the power of mingling, being sociable ,honest, considerate, wise , , discerning enough would help you to get through all the undesirable events that would be going on when meeting a new virtual friends that you meet through net.

There is no perfect partners or spouses in the world. as long as we have found our partners who have the same interest, sharing the same aims and ambitions(that would be nice then),loyal and steadfast to each other, caring and loving , then it should be the minimum key to a greater height of happiness.

it comes to another interesting question as to how we used to know and meet our partner. Some may meet and come to know their partner during high school , universities and some even happen to meet them through a meeting and through online forum or frenster.(as you know how great and enormous the internet was)..

After all. real face confrontation is the way to reveal both personality, come to know each other well, strolling around, take a snap of view, watching movies, window shopping, reading and studying together, having a romantic dinner, doing social works together(it would be nice to me)..and eventually the relationships blossom and develop...tie a knot and finally that is it.

ultimately, if you find you can do daily activities or anything you like with your Girl or boy friend, then i am sure it won't be any barriers to both of your long lasting relationships

I feel like i waant to write further but then due to time constraints, (my mum calling me to keep the clothes)..lol..i have to obey now and make my job done.
Cheers!

Guides to IPTA--FAQ -

i have found some useful information that may acts as a guide to all those who will be pursuing your tertiary education at IPTA soon.
That benefits me as as well.

This is taken from www.quansheng.org

*Tips!

*Tips! 学分制度可让我们逃出“读两年书,一次会考定生死”的梦魇,不过切莫因此养成“这个学期学完这个学期忘”的坏习惯。要知道,学习是为了自己,不是为了考试哦!

This is the useful link where u can find tonnes of information on your study.

The quansheng.org is the current best option for fellow students to seek help and guidance to local IPTA.
This has included some Keji which will act as a guideline for students refer to the minimum pointer and their courses of selections.A great and beneficial site.
Do look up on it.

Matriculation VS STPM!!

Matriculation
It is undeniable that the standard of matri is lower and easier than STPM. BUT, lower and easier does not mean it is very low or easy. It is just easier compared to STPM.

Matri is tough in its own ways. Furthermore, the duration of matri is only a year. So, a lot need to be learned in a short time. I myself was in matri and it is quite OK but it is frustrating as the time is short.

In Matri, at least the subject that matters included in GCPA which is Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics/ Biology. Thus, one don’t have to study subject that is means nothing much which is Pengajian Am. Of course there are other subjects in matri like Dinamika and Moral, but all you need is to pass.

The koku system in matri is 5% from secondary school and 5% from matri. So, all the work one has done in secondary school is not gone to waste unlike STPM.

Local U is not the only option for matri student. One can still go to private college or overseas but the options is lower.
matri students do have to study hard for the first year in the university but the difficulty can be overcome with perseverance.

Form 6
For those smart people, I believe you all like the challenges. So, form 6 is the right thing for you as it is very tough to score.

Furthermore, your koku marks will go back to zero so you have compete with the other form 6 and form 4 in that school for post. This will certain be a good challenge. However, koku is not that much important like in SPM as long as you get 4 flat, your koku might not affect much.

If one enrolls in form 6, you can still stay at home. Moreover, most of one’s friends who didn’t go to college will go to same school as one may go.
If one is planning to study overseas, form 6 is best way compared to matri.

Basically, we can all debate on which one is better and it will never end. The decision on going to Matriculation or Form 6 is up to the person. One have ask him/herself how is one’s financial resource and where one want to go to purse one’s degree. Local or overseas? Basically, one still have persevere not matter what one choose.

Bio related fields

Is life sciences are all about research? the answer is NO!
Lets us have a great deep insight on the fields of biology-the ever enchanting life sciences!

Molecular biology - Yes, you will mess around with the DNA. You play with the genetics and look for new phenotypes which would tell you about the function of proteins/RNA/DNA region in cells (in vivo).

Biochemistry/Biophysics - In general, more quantitative. In general, you isolate/purify your favorite protein/DNA/RNA from the cell, and investigate their functions in a test tube (in vitro). You look at how the molecules move, how they do the chemistry, how they interact with other molecules.

Microbiology is generally the science of germs. You study the behaviors of germs. Usually, you would use methods in molecular biology and biochemistry. Virology, the science of virus.

Bio engineering is a wide field too... megabigBLUR described part of it. One other specializations involved making machines/body parts for biomedical purposes, either for research or for treatment (i.e. synthetic arms and so forth, new methods for scanning brains, or a faster way of sewing wound together).

So, just a piece of advice. If you like biology and hate math in high school. Molecular biology/ cell biology might be want you want. If you like chemistry/biology/quantitative analysis, you can look into biochemistry, chemical biology kind of thing. If you are a hardcore chemist, just do chemistry. Chemists play an IMPORTANT role in the biotech industry too (they make all our drugs). People who likes physics a lot, think about the biological system, the physics that nature uses to create life is incredible and fascinating.

And it doesn't matter very much what you study as an undergraduate. It just gives you a taste of each specific fields. It's not too late to switch field in graduate school. If you look at the famous biologists nowadays, there are very very few examples where what they are doing now is what they do in undergraduate. In fact, many of them study math, chemistry or physicsts as an undergraduate. Furthermore, the field today has become extremely interdisciplinary, you need to be good at almost anything, and be willing to move away from your niche to apply the most suitable technique to the problem you want to solve.

In addition, as the field of system biology/ quantitative biology continues to grow, the biological field will welcome more and more mathematicians and computer scientists. So, if you are trying to be a biologist today, make sure that you at least know some math and programming, otherwise, you aren't going to catch up with the influx of results from system biology in the close future.

Dynamic Camp: 3th June - 6th June 2009

I will be joining a 4days 3night dynamic camp at Penang this coming 3th of June 2009.
i believe this dyanamic camp would be very fulfilling and and enjoyable. Not only that, it can enhance your interpersonal skills , hone your communication skills as well as learn how to be independent while away from home sweet home.

It would be rather challenging and exciting and i am looking forward to it.

My Final CGPA result out!

I am getting very excited as the moment i accessed to the MOE website to check my result, it appears to be the expected result.I have finally made it till the end. the struggling, dedication, perseverance and my hard work paid off. That was a great moment in my life. I hit 4 flat for both semester.

SUBJEK GRED
BAHASA INGGERIS B
MATEMATIK SAINS A
KIMIA A
BIOLOGI A

STATUS LULUS

1 thing I wonder is how hard is Matriculation English, as i know, my english is still up to a standard , isnt it? LOL, but still many do fail to secure A due to unknown reason. maybe the standard of english is levelling up and those who are really genuise and excellent in english can only survive and get the highest score-A.

I hereby thanks my lecturers for guiding me throughout the year . I appreciate it very much..but then now i am in a dilemma of choosing whichever course for the 2nd phase of IPTA.Haiz! Have to think twice then!

~I have come back!..WEE....~~~

after a long boring stay at my grandparents house ,for the past two weeks , finally i have come back to Penang.i took KKKL express bus yesterday night and reach penang at 6pm..that was too early right? haha..i took a short nap just now and wakes up siting here to update my blog for a little while.
Well, why i say that is boring to stay at my grandparents house, that is because there is no Internet! without it i cannot surf the net to gain some educational knowledge , i even can't update my blog constantly.

While having my holidays at Malacca, i have a nice staying too, for at least i know that i can care for my two old grandparents and spent a precious and wonderful time with them. Especially my grandma, she is quite infirm and always endure the pain of backache. I greatly sympathised her but i couldn't help much besides caring and helping her at the kitchen.
Somehow, i feel that my stay at Malacca is more on watching TV Astro, eating , helping grandma with cooking etc. Haha, i have becomes so addicted to my favorite series movies from various astro channels like:
AEC 301------< The golden Path > ....too bad i cant catch the last episodes which is today.
< Six Children >.....A very touching Korean Movies with the story of a single mum
trying hard to raise her lovely six children

Hallmark Channel 702-----< The Oprah Winfrey show >.....Like it or not, it is the best show touching on a lot of successful, incredible, truly genuine stories happening around the world. I like the way Oprah talk, that could perhaps improve my speaking skill too.:)

< the adventurous of Merlin >..........the magical story about a man named Merlin trying hard to save and protects his kingdom of Camelot with his King Arthur .Quite trilling!

Trip to Genting highlands 27th April 2009

I have come back from malacca and now it is the time for me to pen down my experience and memorable moments right from my genting trips with my friends!I have spent around 150++ bucks for the trips but it is worthwhile!

Time flies but the memorable moments stay intact, that is quite truely apply to my recent Genting Highland trips with my fellow KMK friends, including my ex CLHS buddies.

We had a great time staying there, though it is just a 2day 2 night trip. And yes, nothing can decribe the wondeful experience for being at genting besides pen down my thoughts and of course the pictures that could tell and describe everythings straight to the points.

We depart at 8am , taking a direct bus staright to Genting Highland, well, frankly that was my 2nd time of going there . The 1st time there was i being with my uncle and siblings together. it is really fun of joining a groups of my friends : Chun hean, Po jun, Wan Jie, Fu yong, dick way, Wei Li, Chee Hoo, chun horng..
Here is everything that can describe the every little moments that we have enjoyed ourselves so much right here at genting.

PS:the little captions for every pictures are exempted. Assume everyone else had got the experience of going to genting for trips..

we leave Genting highland at 29 april 2009, that is the time where everyone of us bid farewell to each other.

Good luck to my friends and yes the wonderful times of joining you guys would be always on my mind! :)
