Does pointer really matter?

When someone asking this question:

"Is a good pointer(CGPA)  important? Should it really matter when it comes to first class and second class graduates?"

i would find this to be a great reply:

"CGPA is important. I won't lie to you and said that it's not important. But CGPA can only bring you as far as to interview room. After that, it's up to your communication skills and knowledge to convince the interviewer that you're the right person for them to hire."

Credit to bucharestophere for sharing his piece of advice:

Cliche as it may sound, the extra mile was given by God. I performed consistently throughout my academic years, undertook various leadership roles and have honed my communication skills. Also, I'm studying in a reputable overseas, not Oxbridge or Ivy Leagues. There is no secret really, just be really good at what you do, be consistent and outstanding. Undertake internships and initiatives in things that you are passionate about. More importantly, being well read with good exposure to cultures and various interests help as it will shape the way you communicate and the depth of your conversation. Also, I dare say I nailed the interview by really knowing what I'm talking about and being confident with my answers, which really come naturally when you're talking about something you're passionate for. The way you carry yourself is of utmost importance.

So my conclusion for today is : Getting a high paying job is not just about your academic result (can be advantageous),. After all, it boils down to the job that you are pursuing and where you intend to work. And yes, being self confident is an important factor in securing a job, build new skills along the way. =)

The Moment with Grandparents

Obliviously, Hari Raya has over, and that also signify that my 2 weeks midterm semester break is going to come to an end. I spent my two weeks break at grandparents’ house ,which is also my hometown, a place where I born, which is situated at Melaka. Though nothing seems to be special , full of fun and exciting events or trips during my 2 week stay, I appreciate the moment when it comes to spending time with my beloved grandma. It is really worthy to have spend some time with her for I know that what she need especially during her ill period is a care, a love and a concern. A care and a hug which comes from  a grandson,I  believe would definitely makes her days.  I always look up grandpa, especially the way he takes good care of his health.Though he is already 82 years old( Same age as Tun Sri Dr Mahathir), he is still good in shape and strong. He always wakes up early in the morning, breathing the fresh air and taking his favourite coffee (Kopi O).  He can still always go down to Malacca town, The Pasar Besar near Melaka Sentral  to buy some vegetables, fruits  and some other stuffs. He manage to take Tai Lye bus( the oldest bus in the Tampin area), costing him RM2.30 per trip, all the long down to the market. There is one time when I brought my brothers to Mahkota Parade and came back late.Grandpa was very worried about us, he even can’t sleep just for the sake of making a call to the bus company as well as called us to know our whereabouts.Luckily during that time, we managed to catch the last Tai Lye bus at 9.30pm.When went back to house, he scolded us. But  deep in my heart, I know he cares for us.=)Thank You Grandpa!

Grandma is not so lucky as grandpa to have blessed with a healthy body. She diagnosed with stomach cancer recently.I felt heartbroken when I heard that she got this kind of deadly illness. Cancer,is one of the deadly killing disease in the world. While it’s true that radiation and chemotherapy can shrink stomach  cancer tumors, that alone isn’t enough to restore a person to true health. So besides taking the herbs of Professor Chris Teo, she is taking motillium and controloc to suppress the symptoms of stomach cancer. Everyday she has to take twice the medications ( 4tablets)  for easy digestion and to ensure she can take food as usual. Without it, she will definitely vomit upon eating. So she has to rely on these medications to make her feel  better.Though  long terms medication definitely  do no good to her health, it is better than undergoing chemotherapy and surgery which would pose a higher risk to her health. Nutritional supplements are of utmost importance to her health too and that is why she needs to be monitored well in terms of her diets and nutrition. Food rich in antioxidants, fibers, protein and vitamins would do good to her health. More fruits ,vegetables, plant based food like oats milk, soya milk ,less meat, chicken, refined sugar oil, salt and animal based food would definitely benefit her greatly.

I pray for your recovery, grandma! =)

AEPP--Write a Will Course

A will is as important to you and your loved one.
Without a will, your assets could be more troublesome than beneficial to your family at a time when they are most vulnerable. They could become involved in a long drawn process with the law or a complex legal battle.
Without a will, the law will decide who your beneficiaries should be. You should never assume that your assets would go to the person you want to benefit. Leave nothing to chance. Make a will and the law will protect your wishes.
Currentlly, i have came across this Associate Estate Planning Practitioner (AEPP) designation, it is to raise the standard of the industry to the next height. In fact, estate planning has been widely recognised in Malaysia as a professional practice (similar to those in the United States & United Kingdom).I think of taking the 3 days full course structure in future time after attend the PAIA Exhibition & Conference 2010 held in Midvalley Exhibition Centre last saturday(25th Sept).
