Penang Time Square

Penang Times Square, developed by Ivory Properties Group, is now opened for over three years, and yet many of its outlets remain shut.

Having been away from Penang for quite some time, it is my first time to visit Penang Time Square yesterday.
The mall has held quite a number of activities in its outdoor plaza and one of these are the largest English bookfair by Bookexcess bookstore which was held since yesterday up till this Sunday.

The books sold are of variety, from cookery, non-fiction, fiction, sports, children books, to history and motivational books.There are indeed a great discount offered, from 50% to 80%! The most cheapest books range from RM9.90 to at most RM 50. For those who really want to grab books at these lowest prices, it is the TIME  now!

Well, I was a bit taken aback when I didn't manage to buy any books though I am an avid reader.Probably, because the fiction and non-fiction books sold are not of my cup of tea, plus I was actually looking for getting some magazines like Malaysian business, SME, Discovery, Travel and Living etc, but none of them are on sell. The only magazines I saw are those magazines for designers.

 

First day, not so huge crowd.

After the book fair, we strolled around the mall. There is this DIY shop, located at the 3rd floor of the mall. I know it will be a blessing for all Penangite to get the cheapest things at these franchise shops! It has only one which I have bump into so far in Melaka, and now, I saw one branch at Time Square, indeed a blessing!

What more surprises is that, the Sunshine City,the new flagship store of the Suiwah Corporation, has officially opened in Time Square. The things sold are quite cheap, I would say. Unfortunately, not much people shopping there, probably due not so many outlets in the mall.

And so, to conclude, Penang Time Square will be the hub for shopping and business and perhaps will be a great booster to Penang's economic growth. I hope to see more outlets opening there and as the latest phase of this complex is completed, there will be an increase in tenancy and traffic! ;)
