There are so many things to share during my first exploration in Korea. I just didn't have much time to write recently, but guess I will be having much free time to write this week before I am leaving off to KL to attend my job interviews next week. So here I will start by sharing our APL first field trip to Yeosu World Expo.
In
17th July 2012, we attended the first field trip organized by the
APL and Kyungpook National University. The main theme for Yeosu
World Expo ‘The living Ocean and Coast’ conceptualizes the most desirable
future for the ocean whose sound preservation and well-being is essentially
linked with the survival of mankind. A lot of expo, pavilion, exhibition,
performances from different countries around the world as well as multinational
companies such as Hyundai, Posco, Samsung etc were featured in the expo.
It
is a very eye opening field trip as we managed to visit a few pavilions such as
France, Swiss, Hyundai Pavilions, as well as witnessing the water performances
at the expo. We hardly managed to visit all of the pavilions that were
available in the Expo in one day, as the expo was crowded with people, both
local and foreign visitors. Long queuing was often necessary for most of the
attraction spots. After visiting the expo, it helps to shed light on
humankind’s knowledge and advancement of technology regarding the ocean and
coast and identifies ways to resolve challenged facing the ocean.
